(copied from serena's post & edited some parts - anyway it's true =))
Now for my beloved team;MAGNUM FORCE
:many a times, i get people asking/telling me;
"why do u want to spend so much time on training? got money earn meh?!"
"wah siao SO MANY trainings!"
"cheerleading need so many training want meh?"
"wah! so dangerous"
"ur cheerleading guys all want to see girls lah"
"flyers very good hor? no need to do anything?"
"cheerleaders are stuck up?"
"if u fall and no one catch u how?"
"you not scare meh?"
"quit lah, waste time only"
people who said all these dont know abt cheerleading, they dont know the amount of hardwork one is needed and the importance of everyone in the team. We need many training cos this is not an individual sports but a team sport. Other team sports like basketball, volleyball or netball need alot of communication between players and individual skills to win the game, for cheerleading it involves not only communication and skills but also trust, cos flyers life are entrust to our other teammates while we're stunting. Be it spotters or bases.
(added by me )Money ? Passion doesnt come tgt with money. We r not slave for money. we enjoyed what we do and we fight hard for what we want. tt's call Passion. it's not easy for people to have Passion for something. we r glad that our squad had come tgt bcuz we all had something in common. Not everything's abt money, it's abt not regretting what you had not done what you want in life. =)
Fear. Of couse im scare, but i'll rather belive that when i fall, they'll defintely catch me.(though accident do happen to most flyers b4, but we learnt) it took me quite a while to overcome my fear in flying BUT im still learning.
Guys in cheerleading are considered gays? or jus to be in the squad for the sake of girls? That's simply a misconception of people, because they have no idea how tough the guys have to be able to endure through the pain and injuries the flyers had created by falling in all direction. How each and every1 of them trained so hard to get the stunts up. I respect all my bases and im sorry for all the injuries that i'd created.
Cheerleaders are stucked up? yes, i use to feel that way too but eversince i know and learnt more abt this sport, i know why cheerleaders appear to be stuck up to some people, that because, we're all trained to display our self-confidence in such a way. when stunting and doing routine, all this confidence made a true cheerleader shine.
in cheerleading, it seems that we need to be good in EVERY SINGLE THING.we need to groove, we need to dance, we need superb coordination power, we need alertness, we need sharpness, we need to have physical strength, endurance power and lastly, will power.
its because of all these trainings that we have, everyone of us give up some things that we badly wanted at some point of time. But all these brought us bonded together as one united team, in magnum we train hard, play hard and love one another. its not easy to strive a balance, and to me , i think everyone is trying hard to find the balance. i didnt know how much i want to be part of cheerobics until now, i was in doubt of myself; i dont know if im up to it to cope with the stress, and was i even ready for it. my conclusion is; i'll put in my 120% if im given the chance, but if i am not given the chance, i'll work even harder to fight for my place next year. =) i read the MAGNUM FORCE message board. and ryan wrote this.
[[ This are what we stand for:
For all the times we sacrifice with our love ones
For all the injury we suffered
For all the sleep we missed
For all the people that supported us
For our family that understand us
For the luv our sch principal gave us
